Open call for games & workshops

UPDATE!

The deadline for workshop submissions is now over. Thank you for your interest!

Game submissions will continue until September 19 for a potential opportunity to exhibit in the Gamercamp Center Hall over the November 3 and 4 weekend.

The Hall will feature over 25 games, including games accepted from the exhibition, Gamercamp-curated games, and works from speakers. Have hundreds of people see your game!

Games can of the following platforms: Console (PlayStation3, Xbox 360, Wii), Desktop/Laptop (PC, Mac, Linux), Mobile (iOS, Android, Playbook, Windows Phone), Board Games, and Physical Games.

The criteria for accepted games include fit with Gamercamp’s mandate of artfulness and creativity in games, level of execution, state of polish, and playability within a shortened experience. (For the latter criterion, this refers to how quickly a player can pick up the essence of the game within what is likely to be a maximum 10-minute exposure.)

Accepted games will be showcased in the Gamercamp Center Hall for two half-days and will include up to two passes for Gamercamp, including the social, and a 32″ television will be provided for your game. Submission implies acceptance of terms.

(In case your game is not accepted and you wish to catch the Early Bird rates for passes, we suggest you purchase passes first and, upon acceptance, Gamercamp will refund your pass purchase.)

The final deadline is September 19, 2012 with a rate of $59.

Game acceptance notices will occur in late September.

STEP ONE: Complete payment below.

Gamercamp is placing an open call in two ways:

First, there is a call for workshops of 60 -120 minutes in length at Gamercamp, which combine a hands-on, maker practicality with Gamercamp’s mandate of artfulness and creativity in games.

Interested workshop holders should fill out the form (link below) with a brief sketch of their idea with a clear understanding of the hook for Gamercamp attendees, and some idea of specifics such as budget and ideal size of attendance (must be scalable between 50 to 90 participants.). Please note, Gamercamp will help with budget on a limited basis.

Note: workshop submissions are free. Submission for workshop ideas due September 6, 2012.
